It took just one horrible salon experience to reduce my hair to the texture of dried twigs. It was shocking to see the amount of damage done by a previous salon to my crowning glory – everyone who saw my hair in person could not believe that the previous salon would allow anyone to walk out of their salon with hair in such a terrible condition.
I looked like a WALKING JOSS STICK. 🙁
I was devastated with the condition of my hair but ten minutes into having my hair analyzed and speaking to the stylists at Salon Vim, I knew my hair had hope. I knew restoring health and shine back to my hair wasn’t impossible anymore. I knew I was in good hands.
For my first visit at Salon Vim a month ago, I had the moisture treatment following an ombre hair job, a dark brown base with magenta highlights. Super pretty!
This time, I asked my stylist Ivan what hair color would make a person’s hair look healthier and he said dark colors would naturally provide that. So after some discussion we decided to have my hair darkened to a dark purple with red-purple highlights. No more ombre, but hidden highlights.
I love how my hair looks so multidimensional, with different degrees of purple and violet peeking out from curtains of maroon.
GORGEOUS, isn't it!!! Takes real skill and technique to achieve this. Thank you, Ivan! 😀
The photos of me in the orange top were taken a week after the visit to Salon Vim and my hair was still SO SOFT and extremely manageable. No styling needed, no blow drying. All I had to do to get ready to go out was apply Mythic Oil and that's it.
It was the magical cocktail treatment, I tell you.
What I loved about the cocktail treatment at Salon Vim was the fact that it was specially MADE FOR ME.
According to your hair needs, your stylist would put together a mixture of products to best condition your hair.
Then they would be dropped into a bubble tea-like mixer......
....... and it's time to SHAKE AWAY!
That's why it's called the Cocktail Treatment, coz it's mixed in a cocktail shaker. Or Chemistry Treatment, coz it's a fusion of different elements.

See the arrow pointing at the red tub? That's the mask I use for 'continued care' at home. It's DA BOMB, I tell ya. Meant for colored hair, it has helped to not only prolong my hair color but done a fantastic job at keeping my hair tangle-free and moisturized.
Let me tell you a secret... I used to go to those sundry shops in Chinatown and buy Redken hair products and I hated that they made my hair really dry and stupid. So I was a bit apprehensive when Ivan handed me the Redken shampoo and conditioner. Nonetheless, I went home and used them and was instantly convinced the products I bought in Chinatown were FAKE. Lol. No wonder they were priced so ridiculously low!
Really, for the sake of your beloved tresses, buy Redken products from salons and not those cheapo sundry shops.
While I was waiting for the treatment to settle, I saw a little girl getting a haircut. The hair stylist was fantastic. The little girl was extremely fidgety, with absolutely no fear of having a pair of scissors around her head, and kept squirming around wanting to get out of the seat. Her father had to constantly talk to her to help ensure she's looking at one direction. You know some stylists who would force the client's head into position or get irritated with a fidgety kid? This stylist was so swift in her cutting and agile in adapting to her little client's movements that the haircut was safe and over in the fastest time possible. I was so impressed.
Okie, back to MY hair. Hoho.
TAA-DAA!!!
Taken with flash so it looks a little harsh, but you can really see the dark purple base and red-purple highlights peeking out.
I have a love-hate relationship with my bangs. I love having them because it suits my face shape and makes me look younger LOL, yet at the same time, it hides my eyebrows and if it grows too long, it covers my eye looks, which I take pride in, if I may say so myself. That’s why I love having my bangs cut.
This time I was so lucky to have Gary come and cut my hair again. He asked “Do you want to have big eyes?” What kind of question was that? @_@ How is hair related to the size of my eyes?! I was amused yet intrigued coz I had never heard of anything like that.
Anyhoohow, I agreed to big eyes (who wouldn’t?).
And he cut my bangs so that my eyes really did look bigger and brighter!
Like this:
HAHAHA!
(Great caption, by the way. Totally describing me too. LOL.)
I have no idea who this character is, but her fringe best illustrates the one Gary gave me. Look carefully, the centre of the bangs is slightly lower than the rest. The area directly above the eyes is shaped very closely according to the shape of the eyes.
With Gary and their 3-year-old money plant. HUAT AR!
And human version of BIG EYES haircut. Hahaha! I LOVE this picture! The lighting, my makeup, hair, smile... perfect!
Gel Liner - Lioele Gel Liner;
Lipgloss - Lioele Blooming Gloss (Two Way);
Brow Pencil - Lioele Auto Eyebrow Pencil
I wanna get the BIG EYES haircut again the next time! The different between that and the normal straight bangs is subtle, but somehow subtlety makes a whole lot of difference in the overall look.
May I remind you that you Ivan and his team accomplished this with their magical hands?
I can perform magic too! I can give you 10% off all chemical services at Salon Vim! Heh heh! 😛 Just quote Juli or Bun Bun Makeup Tips.
Try the Cocktail Treatment! Your hair will love you for it.

Once my hair is restored to a better condition, I wanna try more funky colors. Like blue, green, pink. You know, just because I wanna do that before I hit 30. HAHAHA! Boo.
