I don't cover every event that I attend but because these two, coincidentally both by Shu Uemura, were the very first where I boldly appeared sans mask and with full-on makeup (complete with falsies because I missed being all dressed up!), I felt that they signified a big step towards my walking away from the shadows of the facial episode and into the light of a new me.
(Foundation: Lancome Mat Miracle BO-01)
It's funny how I felt kinda nervous before and throughout the entire event where we got introduced to the new Shu Uemura The Lightbulb Fluid Foundation. I think I even looked awkward in these pictures. Forgot how to pose! HAHA!! Rusty round the edges!
Shu Uemura Lightbulb Foundation 10 shades
Shu Uemura launches the Lightbulb Foundation that delivers 'natural glowing skin with perfect coverage to veil imperfections' and 'long-lasting moisture yet exquisite fit'. It retails for SGD75.00 and comes with the Lightbulb Sponge.
It is also known as 10克拉鑽石光粉底液 (10 carat-diamond foundation) in Taiwan and is madly popular there, as I've heard.
There are ten shades available and 764 Medium Light Beige is perfect for me. (I'm MAC NC20-25, Lancome BO-01, Chanel 21 Beige Ochre, for reference.)
Shu Uemura Lightbulb Foundation 764 Medium Light Beige
When I tried it on my face for the first time, I was shocked! Not in a good way! =O My whole face lit up like I had been out for a good 15 hours and it looked really greasy. The shade was another issue, it looked 2 shades darker! While most foundations oxidize on the skin after a while - meaning it turns darker and therefore some people tend to buy a shade lighter, the Shu Uemura Lightbulb Foundation de-oxidized (is there such a word?) on me.
So 5 minutes after I was done with foundation application, used a tissue to remove excess moisture and dabbed on setting powder, the foundation suddenly looked totally blended into my skintone! WOAHHH!!! Lol!
Because I have oily skin, I prefer my foundation to provide more of a matte finish, because oily skin + matte finish = just right. HOHO. I do think people with combination/dry skin will like this foundation as it provides 12-hour moisture and that glowy finish that dry skin tends to lack.
On another day, we attended the very well-organized Shu Uemura 6 Heart Princess by Takashi Murakami Holiday Collection event.

On me: Dream Pink; On Evonne: Fuchsia Fun-tasy
I wish I had such a well-lit makeup station! My makeup table is also my work table, my meal table, my reading table, my fall-asleep-drooling table. Maybe when I have my own home with Mr Mode, I shall install one of these. Anyone has any idea where to find one? 🙂
The inspiration behind this exclusive holiday collection are 'majokko' (magical witch girls) in an animated world where normal girls magically transform into super women to fight evil and challenges in the world. In every woman exists a dark and light side... sometimes we're nice and cute but we can be naughty and sexy too. Heh heh heh. OKIE TMI.
I find it hard to be sexy at all, especially with bangs. @_@ When I try to not smile and act hot, I look like I have cramps. BAHAHAHA!!
All my beautiful blogger friends received the Shu Uemura Enchanted Black Parallel Palette so I assumed I did too and was happy coz you know how much I love colors! So I was secretly disappointed when I was greeted with the Shu Uemura Heart-full Pink Parallel Palette.
BUUUT!!!!!!!
OMG!! I can't believe I'm saying this but I do think I have found the perfect sweet shades kind of palette! If there's anything that could have changed my perception on neutral palettes, THIS WOULD BE IT.
L-R: Pressed Eye Shadow Iridescent White | Pressed Eye Shadow Iridescent Yellow | Pressed Eye Shadow Iridescent Glittery Pearl Light Pink | Pressed Eye Shadow Iridescent Pink
Silk Smooth Eyeshadow Orange | Silk Smooth Eyeshadow Dark Brown | Silk Smooth Eyeshadow Reddish Brown
I don't own any Shu Uemura eyeshadows but these have convinced to look into them! Such great quality! I can't even decide which are my favorites because they're truly gorgeous in their own ways.
I don't think I've ever liked a palette with soft, pink hues so much before. So glad I received this palette instead! Blessing in disguise. ^_^
Glow On Pearl Deep Pink
I love how quality is consistent across every single product in this palette. The blush is a perfect shade of sweet pink and a great compliment to the soft eyeshadow shades. For highlighting of brow bone, Iridescent Yellow is acceptable but for highlighting of cheekbones, I still prefer to use MAC Shroom or Makeup Geek Shimma Shimma. Iridescent White is too... white.
This is the first time I have a palette and have no desire to depot the eyeshadows. Hahaha!
I received Lip & Cheek Fun-tasy in Fuchsia Fun-tasy. When I first applied it I thought I looked like Nicki Minaj. X_X But after a while it looked really pretty on the lips! It's like a lipstain with a cream-to-powder finish. Wish it could be less drying on my lips though.
YAY! I'm glad to be back! 😀
