The title of this post is as unimaginative as the degree of seriousness of what I’m going to tell you. I have been struggling with whether to tell you guys about this.
And I have ultimately decided to.
So…*clears throat
I am gonna set up shop.
Will You Support Me?
(I know you will, I just needed to ask that out loud hoho)
Having been a beauty blogger for a while and having reviewed quite a number of products, it seems laughable that during the initial months I had worried I would run out of products to review. In reality, my rate of purchasing cannot keep up with my rate of reviewing.
Being in the close-knit beauty community has not only gained me friends who share common interests, understand why makeup is such an important aspect of our lives, and taught me many makeup tips and tricks, it has also accorded me a good sense of what the market wants and needs but cannot get. By ‘market’, I refer to not only the Singapore market, but international as well.
I appreciate that my readers of Bun Bun Makeup Tips put trust in my reviews and it brings a great smile to my face whenever a reader tells me something I reviewed performed well on her too.
You cannot imagine the number of messages I receive every month asking where I got this product since it’s not sold in Singapore and where can they get it if it’s in Singapore (or Asia) but not available in their countries.
Therefore, I have decided to set up an online makeup store, selling makeup products hard to find or not available at all in Singapore PLUS those easily available in Asia but not in Western countries. HAPPY RIGHT! 😀
I have the right connections to get certain products, and instead of keeping them all to myself, I thought why not share it with you guys?
We have done plenty of research on business-related matters the past couple of months, spoken to people with good advice to give, gone through some crazy weeks with one another (me and my business partners) and are almost ready to set off.
I have prepared for and long been convinced that setting up a business is NOT EASY. However, despite all the sleepless nights, planning until we all had brainfreeze, getting pissed off with bad customer service staff over the phone, WE ARE HAVING SO MUCH FUN! 😀
The thrill of getting through something incredibly difficult and finding sweet success, be it as small a task as finding out how shipping costs are calculated, is what fuels me infinitely.
But that’s not to say I have grown sick of Bun Bun Makeup Tips. I never will. It is my baby and good mothers don’t abandon their babies.
(Check out our matching attire! :D)
And how could anyone have the heart to abandon Bun Bun? By the way, you should totally check out the Story of Bun Bun!
What I’d love, is for my readers of Bun Bun Makeup Tips to ride with me on this journey, through my ups and downs, grow with me; I hope to learn from those with experience and inspire others to chase their dreams.
We will document our journey together, with all of you being a part of the establishment. Bun Bun Makeup Tips will STILL be about makeup tips, makeup tutorials, and beauty product reviews, but on top of all those, we will talk about the makeup store, what goes on behind the scenes, our struggles and concerns, what you'd like to see happen, etc. It's gonna be EXCITING!!! Whheeeee...!!! I'm high on life!
Are you ready to join me on this wonderful, colorful journey? Do you own a business? What advice do you have for a budding entrepreneur?
In the next post regarding the store, I will talk about some concerns that have been troubling me. Hope to see your views on them and I look forward to seeing you again!
Love,
Juli
