Take it all off! Your makeup, I mean! Teeheehee!
It is important to remove all traces of makeup before you turn in for the night. NO EXCUSES! This is my third bottle of the Biore Makeup Remover for Eye & Lip and I can proudly say it will be my HG eye makeup remover until the end of time, unless one day it gets discontinued or is reformulated. =(
I always read about people having trouble removing makeup - waterproof mascara especially - on forums and wonder why, if they’ve always been bugged by that problem, never found the solution that I have? Is because those people in forums didn’t know about the oil-based makeup removers that hail from Japan? Or they didn’t have access to them?
Hmmm, I wonder.
Anyway, I reviewed the Fancl Mild Cleansing Oil Makeup Remover in another post and how I loved it before the Biore Makeup Remover for Eye & Lip came into the picture.
Note that the Biore Makeup Remover for Eye & Lip is different from the first generation Biore Makeup Remover Perfect Oil (below) which really wasn’t as good.
This is my EOTD, and I'm gonna show you how to remove all that makeup easily.
I had my makeup on since 0900 and this photo was taken at 2200. A little creasing there, but THIRTEEN hours and my eye makeup is still very much intact thanks to the best eye primer for oily lids – Urban Decay eyeshadow primer potion!
Here are the 5 simple steps to remove even the most stubborn of eye makeup.
Step 1: Shake the bottle well
As you can see from the picture, a layer of oil floats above the pink solution under. Make sure that it turns into a murky mixture.
Step 2: Pour the mixture on a cotton pad
I pour it linearly rather than in a circle coz well, my eye is more horizontal than perfectly circular. Let the mixture settle into the cotton pad for a while so that it won’t drip all over your eye later on.
Step 3: Leave it on the lid for 5 seconds
As per the indications, close your eyes and leave the cotton pad on your eyelid for 5 seconds for the solution to dissolve the makeup. Remember to do it on DRY skin, so don’t go wet your face before.
Step 4: Gently swipe grime away
Because we have to be extra gentle to our delicate eye area, and because the Biore eye makeup remover is so amazing, there is no need to tug or rub your eyes to get rid of mascara, eyeliner or eyeshadow. Simply sweep your lashes in downwards motion first, then look straight into the mirror to remove mascara on the under side (the place where you apply mascara the most heavily on). During this process, most of your eyeshadow and eyeliner would conveniently be removed too.
Swoosh! In one gentle swipe!
Step 5: Continue until eye is clean from all makeup residue
Still using the same cotton pad, continue removing any trace of makeup on the eyebrow, lower lashline, lower waterline, and undereye area. Unless you have very thick layers of eye makeup on, one cotton pad is usually enough for one eye. It does not leave a greasy residue on my face like the Biore first generation makeup remover, nor make my vision blur unlike the Fancl Mild Cleansing Oil.
Everything off!
During my shower, I use the Biore Hydra-Clear Makeup Remover on the whole face for a second round of cleansing. I don’t use this for the eyes though coz it stings! And then finish with my routine facial cleansing. I’m very anal when it comes to cleansing. I have sensitive skin that breaks out and clogs easily from makeup grime build-up. So I try to minimize pore-clogging by making a habit of going to bed with a clean face.
The Biore Makeup Remover For Eye & Lip is a humble yet extremely efficient product at effectively removing even the most stubborn waterproof eye makeup. It is extremely affordable, saves me plenty of time, and does not put stress on my skin.
