I LOVE brands who reformulate their products for the better. The reformulated Heroine Make Mascaras - Long & Curl and Volume & Curl Super Waterproof Mascara - will reveal lashes you never knew you had! I say this because I had a brief acquaintance with its previous Volume & Curl Mascara which didn't quite impress me.
With their new products, Heroine Make, a popular Japanese cosmetic brand has not only convinced me that they are committed to provide long-lasting and smudge-proof makeup, they have re-invented mascaras to reach HOLY GRAIL status! I am SO SO SO SO impressed! You need to read this review if you are looking for a mascara that lengthens, curls, volumizes, lifts and separates.
Let me give you a preview:
Like, HELLO?!?! What just happened to my left eye? You mean I have eyelashes there?!?! 😀 More before-after comparison photos coming up!
Here are the newly launched Heroine Make products. Love the girly packaging!

The curved brush allows the bristles to grab very close to the eyelash roots so even the tiniest of your lashes can be easily curled up. Up from 3mm, the new 5mm fibres boast a 40% more lengthening effect as they firmly lengthen even the shortest lashes.
My eyelashes stayed curled after 8 hours, there was no dropping nor wilting. Very impressive! 😀 The staying power of curled lashes is attributed to the Moment Lock ingredient that strongly sets the curls, and Shape Memory Polymer that retains the shape of curls.
I played a short session of ball game (I can't play ball games to save my life, but it happened anyway. Long story. HAHA.), and there was hardly any smudging. The Super Guard Polymer which repels tears, sweat and water saved the day! It really is a 'Super Waterproof Mascara', true to its name!
Heroine Make Volume & Curl Super Waterproof Mascara
This mascara features an improved Full Catch Brush that transfers a lot more formula from tube to lashes while still separating and lifting every lash.
Both mascaras contain camellia oil, royal jelly extract, argan oil, wild rose oil to nourish and protect your lashes.
Here are more comparison photos to show just how good the mascaras are, especially Long & Curl!
I'll call my left eye the 'scar eye' coz there's a scar there from knocking against my window ledge. It's recovering well, but I hope it will be completely scarless! 🙁
For the good eye (lol), I used Volume & Curl on the upper lashes and Long & Curl on the lower lashes. I was pretty impressed.
For the scar eye, I used Long & Curl on both upper and lower lashes and I WAS BLOWN AWAY.
Compared to my good eye, I have less lush lashes on my scar eye, but the Heroine Make Long & Curl Super Waterproof Mascara made it seem like I have THICKER and MORE lashes on my scar eye!! AMAZING!!! ^_^
It's hard to find a mascara that does anything to my lower lashes, but can you take a moment to check out just how ridiculously luscious my lower lashes looked after applying Heroine Make Long & Curl Mascara?
WHAT SORCERY IS THIS?!!! 😀
Here's how I apply mascara to my lower lashes very quickly, mess-free. I've mentioned it a thousand times and it's in my Top 13 favorite products of 2013.
Just a quick mention of another product that has set my heart aflutter - Heroine Make Smooth Cover Powder Clear. This ultrafine, lightweight powder set my makeup and did wonders for my oily skin. It did not seep into my skin to give the clogged effect, nor did it accentuate my fine lines and imperfections. It has a mattifying finish to counteract shine but did not dull my skin or make me look like a plastered toy.
I have so far only tried the translucent option, but there are two other powders in the Smooth Cover Powder Collection that are colored - Shades 01 and 02. You might want to give these a try as they work as foundation or touch-up powder.
Heroine Make Launch Event
Thank you Heroine Make for making the event such a fun one! There were games to involve everyone, products to play with and take home, and a nice backdrop to take pictures with! Too bad the lighting of the cafe was really poor. 🙁
I uploaded this on my Instagram @bunbunmakeuptips. You can tag Heroine Make @heroinemakesg in your photos too!
This was the 'Ultimate Lash Challenge' to see whose lashes could hold the most number of rubber bands. Evonne's could hold 15. @_@
